The Los Angeles Lakers got a well needed win last night to end a 4 game-skid, beating the Memphis Grizzlies, 107-100. Kobe Bryant has been missing time, nursing his shoulder injury but he decided to give things a go last night. In his 20th and last season, he has shown glimpses that he can still drop buckets with the best of them. He’s given us multiple 20+ and 30+ scoring outputs this season and us Mamba fans have appreciated it. His former teammate, Shaquille O’Neal has appreciated it as well, so much that he had some high requests for Bryant during their post-game interview. With only 12 games left in the season and Kobe’s soon to be celebration at his last game in Staples Center, Shaq wants one thing:

“I need 50 that night,” O’Neal said. “Can you do it? Your last game, your last home game at the Staples, can you give us 50?”

Kobe laughingly but seriously responded:

“Uh, no,” Bryant said, laughing. “No. Absolutely not.”

That maybe pushing it a bit for Kobe, deeming his shooting struggles so far this season. But on the other-hand, his season high is 38 and we all know once he’s feeling it, there’s no turning back. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible but the probability of it is very unlikely. It would be amazing to see Bryant go in vintage mode and put on one more scoring show like that but even if that doesn’t happen, I’m still appreciative of everything he’s given us on the court as his journey is slowly coming to an end.
