Many fans have been calling for second year Chicago Bulls swingman and former University of Creighton basketball standout Doug McDermott to receive more playing time this season after being relegated to a bench warmer role last season by former coach Tom Thibodeau, and it appears as if new Bulls head man Fred Hoiberg is ready to let the 2014 College Basketball National Player of the Year shine.
McDermott had a solid showing in the preseason, and he topped it off by connecting on this game-winner against the Dallas Mavericks in the Bulls’ final dress rehearsal before the real thing starts next week.
With Chicago adopting a more offensive-minded style dependent on space and pristine execution, McDermott could be called upon more often than he was last season. Shots like these prove to Hoiberg and the Bulls that he may be ready for the big-time.
