The friendship between LeBron James, Chris Paul, and Dwyane Wade has been very well documented over the years. One friendship that wasn’t exactly examined all the way was between Carmelo Anthony and LeBron, but now thanks to Howard Beck in Brotherhoodwe know a little bit more.

In Beck’s piece, LeBron talked about teaming up with his group of friends:

“I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together,” James said. “At least one, maybe one or two seasons—me, Melo, D-Wade, CP—we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that.”

Maybe at the end of their careers, James said. Maybe sooner. One more ring chase, this time with everyone on board.

“It would be pretty cool,” James said. “I’ve definitely had thoughts about it.”

Before bounding away, he smiles and closes with a coy chirp: “We’ll see.”

Now, I know what you’re thinking. This does sound like some sort of fairytale, or maybe even a team straight out of Space Jam that is just purely unstoppable, and can only be beaten by Michael Jordan with a stretchable arm. However, there are scenarios that can play out in the favor of this situation actually taking place.

Pieces can be traded like Kevin Love for Melo, and then maybe Kyrie Irving for Chris Paul. Remember, there have been rumors that there is a big disagreement on the court between Irving and James when they play night in and night out. Also, don’t forget that Wade is a free agent this coming summer as well. So, just like that, we can all start hitting the trade machine and make up scenarios where this all becomes a true story.

Just imagine if this does become a real team though. We’re talking about four potential Hall of Famers all on one team. Even though it may not be able to work until the end of their careers, the entertainment value would be through the roof. The Wade to LeBron alley-oops would be back, then we’d get to see CP3 to LeBron alley-oops, as well as scoring from all over the court by Melo. Bring us this fantasy basketball gods!
