The Washington Wizards have announced their new alternate jerseys, which they are calling the “Baltimore Pride”.  From 1964 to 1973, the Wizards were known as the Baltimore Bullets and these jerseys are their way of honoring those teams. We will get to see Washington sport these new uniforms in six games this upcoming season.

I respect the Washington Wizards for paying homage to their heritage and showing respect but these classics are not that appealing in my opinion. As of late, we’ve been seeing a lot of teams bring back throwbacks or create new editions of uniforms which has inspired me to share some of the worst uniforms that we will see this year.

Oklahoma City Thunder

OKC’s new alternate jerseys will feature orange uniforms… and I mean, a lot of ORANGE. Brian Byrnes, Thunder senior vice president of Sales and Marketing stated the uniforms “reinforces the strong connection our team has to our hometown and home state”. Even though that may be how he feels, I believe he was better off letting their fans design this one because I’m sure their frowning their nose up at these to.

Houston Rockets

I don’t think the black uniform is that bad and the silver one is borderline okay but this “Clutch City” uniform is an example of trying too hard. I like when teams keep it simple and basic and the Rockets didn’t go that route; and to be honest, I’m just waiting for Ronald McDonald to pop up in the picture because the “Clutch City” uniforms look like something we could see in a McDonald’s commercial.

I know these are last year’s jerseys, but there’s no way I was going to let these slide through the cracks. These powder blue uniforms might be the worst out of the bunch. I’m not sure who thought it was okay to come out on the court looking like cotton candy but these have to go!
