Fansided reported that the Houston Rockets announcer, Bill Worrell, had said that Terrence Jones might be out for another month. He had reported this when the Rockets took on the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night. The team has yet to confirm this announcement and the latest we have heard from Coach McHale was that all he could say for sure was that Beverley would be returning much sooner than Jones.

Terrence Jones is a key asset on this Houston Rockets team as he is a great compliment to Dwight Howard. Jones’s two replacements, Donatas Motiejunas and Kostas Papanikolaou, haven’t done as well as a job as the Rockets organization had hoped.

Motiejunas has averaged 5.4 PPG and 5.1 RPG while shooting 37% from the field and only 18% from 3 point range. Papanikolaou is averaging 6.1 PPG 2.9 APG and 4.3 RPG. While these numbers are a slight stepup from Motiejunas’s, neither of them have replaced the numbers that Jones has put up. Jones averaged 14.0 PPG, 7.5 RPG, and 1.8 BPG in the two games prior to his injury.

If the Houston Rockets are going to be one of the better teams in the Western Conference this year, they will need Terrence Jones on the court and at 100%.
