Portland Trail Blazers shooting guard Wesley Matthews was forced to watch his team pull out a hard-fought 105-100 victory over the Houston Rockets from home yesterday, as he underwent season-ending Achilles surgery earlier in the afternoon. Despite not being able to play in the contest, Matthews still donned his jersey and arm sleeves during the contest.
The Blazers don’t intend to forget their sharpshooting comrade anytime soon, and they paid homage to Matthews by sporting “With Wes” t-shirts during warmups.
