Today, Friday April 10th is National Siblings Day. We have had some great siblings in the NBA throughout the years including Dominique and Gerald Wilkins (seen above). I thought it would be a fun idea to look at some of the best siblings currently playing in the NBA and rank the top 5.

5. Tyler and Cody Zeller

zeller brothers

Tyler Zeller, 25, is currently playing for the Boston Celtics. He is having the best season of his career and has proved that he can be a solid backup in the league for the foreseeable future. He has started more than half of the games for the Celtics this season, but their plan isn’t to have Zeller in the starting lineup forever.

2014-2015 NBA Statistics:

Cody Zeller, 22, is currently playing for the Charlotte Hornets, but not having the same type of success his brother is having. Cody has shown improvements from his rookie year, but hasn’t made the impact that we would like from a player drafted in the top 5 in the 2013 Draft. He has started a good chunk of games this season, but just hasn’t produced the numbers you would want.

2014-2015 NBA Statistics:

Better Brother (IMO): Tyler Zeller

4. Miles and Mason Plumlee

Miles Plumlee, 26, currently a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, has struggled this season after having a very promising sophomore season. He struggled with injuries for a while and the underachieving performance in the first half of the season led to the Suns deciding to deal him at the deadline. Hopefully he will be able to turn it around in Milwaukee.

2014-2015 NBA Statistics:

Mason Plumlee, 25, has shown glimpses of brilliance during his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets, especially this year. He is truly a work horse whenever he gets into the game and any coach would appreciate having someone like Mason on their team.

3. Brook and Robin Lopez

Brook Lopez, 27, is a very consistent basketball player who will give you around 17 points every night when healthy. The problem is that he can’t stay healthy too often and isn’t a premier rebounder. Brook has only averaged a little over 7 rebounds per game for his career. The past couple of months, especially, Brook Lopez has proved to be a top 10 center in the NBA.

2014-2015 NBA Statistics:

Robin Lopez, 27, is a defensive minded center who has been a great asset for the Portland Trail Blazers. Alongside LaMarcus Aldridge, Robin has been overshadowed, but has done what the team has needed him to do. Being one of the best free throw shooters at the center position in the NBA is always a plus because Coach Stotts can play him in crunch-time and not worry about it.

2014-2015 NBA Statistics:

Better Brother (IMO): Brook Lopez

2. Markieff and Marcus Morris

Markieff Morris, 25, is having an incredible season for the Suns. He has started each and every game so far this season for Phoenix with only 3 games left to go. Markieff has made vast improvements in his game and should be somewhat considered for Most Improved Player of the Year honors. He most likely won’t win it, but he still has become a very solid NBA player.

2014-2015 NBA Statistics:

Marcus Morris, 25, hasn’t nearly had the same amount of playing time that his brother has had in Phoenix. Lately, Marcus has been given the chance to start some games because of Brandon Knight’s injury, but Marcus hasn’t impressed enough to be given a spot permanently. Marcus has the potential, but let’s see if he can produce as well as his brother has in the coming years.

Better Brother (IMO): Markieff Morris

1. Pau and Marc Gasol

Pau Gasol, 34, is having a fantastic season yet again this year. Pau is delivering each and every night and now has 51 double-doubles on the season in his first season with the Chicago Bulls. Pau is one of the best power forwards to ever play in the NBA.

2014-2015 Statistics:

pau gasol stats

Marc Gasol, 30, is arguably the greatest center in the NBA. He is also one of the best defensive players we have in the league. His offensive game has improved drastically since his rookie year and now can be considered a true all around elite player.

2014-2015 NBA Statistics:

Marc and Pau Gasol are no question the best sibling duo in the NBA and maybe even the best of all time. They have proved it for so long and the only question that remains is who is the better brother.

Better Brother (IMO): Marc Gasol

Do you agree with my rankings? Is Marc the better Gasol brother? Let us hear your thoughts on Twitter @BBallSociety_
