As reported by Elliot Smith of CBS Sports and by NBA.com, the Morris twins of the Phoenix Suns have pleaded not guilty in their assault case.
Markieff and Marcus Morris were accused of helping three other people to beat a man. The man, 36-year-old Eric Hood, was outside of a Phoenix recreation center in January when he was met by this group of people who beat him down. Markieff Morris acknowledged that he was at the sports complex, but he denied being apart of the group.
A rumor was going around that the reason Hood was beaten had to do with the Morris’ mother. Apparently he was “sexting” their mother and that’s what set them off. However, This rumor has not been proven.
There will be an initial pretrial conference set for June 30.
