Kemba Walker is one of the top free agents this year and while he’s been reluctant to leave Charlotte, they refused to offer him the super max that he deserves. Now, because of that, Kemba Walker is reportedly expected to sign with the Boston Celtics on Sunday once Free Agency officially begins.

With this news, it seems pretty clear that Terry Rozier and Kyrie Irving will both be making their way out of Boston. Kemba joins a starting lineup alongside Smart (or Brown), Tatum, and Hayward. Al Horford is still likely to be heading out which leaves that big man position as the next spot they have to aggressively look to fill.

The Celtics won’t have much space left which will leave them to having to convince players to sign for cheap with the hope of reaching the Finals. Depending on where some of the other top free agents land, including Kyrie, Durant, Jimmy Butler, and Kawhi, the Eastern Conference could be wide open next year.

Carsen Edwards will likely slot in as the backup point guard with some of the other rookies like Grant Williams needing to come in and accept a bigger role now.

This is not the end of big transactions that the Celtics will be making this summer one way or the other.
