One day I’ll be able to tell my children about the nights I spent cackling on the couch while watching the Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry play basketball. My squawking however is for good reason, as Curry never ceases to enthrall on the court.
Last night during the Warriors’ 100-84 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, Curry dropped 28 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals, and one of his baskets was one of the most ridiculous things you’ll see this season.
Curry, anticipating a foul from the referee, heaved up a wild three-pointer hoping to hear the chirp of a whistle. Despite being deprived of a foul call, Curry banked in a three after swiping the ball from the Grizzlies and stumbling and tumbling into the shot attempt.
This guy might be an alien. He might be a video game. He might be a combination of the two. Whatever Stephen Curry is, he’s not of this planet, and his play early on this season echoes this sentiment.
