The Cleveland Cavaliers trounced the Nuggets 124-91 inside of Quicken Loans Arena on Monday night, but during a second quarter in which Denver clawed back from a large first quarter deficit to briefly take the lead, Nuggets big man Jusuf Nurkic met LeBron James at the rim on a layup attempt, and the result was an atypical one.
Nurkic stuffed James and stared him down as King James laid on his back and watched everyone else scurry down the floor. We usually see James administer plays such as that one, but like my man T.I. said on No Matter What, “even the greatest gotta suffer sometime.”
Nurkic, whose a huge proponent of trash-talking, did not get the last laugh in this episode as a few possessions later James barreled through him to convert on an and-one layup. Oh, James’ team also won by 33 and he dropped a monstrous triple-double to the tune of 33 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Besides this minor hiccup, another effective night at the office for the King.
