James Harden was cooking with the hottest of grease on Wednesday night.
After successfully shouldering the load in the absence of big man Dwight Howard, James Harden finds himself in the middle of an intense race for the NBA’s MVP award with the likes of Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Chris Paul.
Who ultimately wins the award is anyone’s guess, but basketball junkies such as myself have found watching the aforementioned men do their best to one-up each other and solidify their case as the league’s Most Valuable Player a joyful experience.
Harden certainly did that on Wednesday night in a 95-93 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, as he posterized several of New Orleans’ players as he threw down an impressive dunk in the third quarter.
The Rockets welcomed back Howard in the victory, and Harden finished with 25 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds.
