The Pistons are a young team that’s still trying to find it’s place in the Eastern Conference. They have had the talent to become a playoff team over the past couple seasons, but have not lived up to expectations.

They have taken the league by storm so far with a 3-0 start, but the team went back to their old ways of not supporting their best player. Andre Drummond went off for 25 points and 29 rebounds, his fourth double-double of the season, but came in a 96-84 losing effort to the Pacers. Drummond has been one of the best players of the season so far. Here are some statistics that say why.

Andre Drummond is the first Pistons player to start a season with four consecutive double-doubles since Ben Wallace did it in 2004-05.

The first NBA player with multiple 20-point/20-rebound games in his team’s first four games since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar did it in 1975

And he’s the only player since the NBA-ABA merger with at least 75 points and 75 rebounds in his team’s first four games.

These are some crazy numbers for such a young player. It was only a matter of time before Drummond was going to get off to a hot start. People can now start to take notice of one the best big men in the league.
