The Passing Game, Vol. 11: Thread that needle

Welcome to The Passing Game, where we simply take the time to glorify the dimes being thrown all around us.

Here were two dope passes from NBA action on Tuesday night.

Well what do you know, Kobe Bryant is making his first appearance on The Passing Game. Kobe shows us his facilitating ability every so often, and here, in the pick-and-roll game with Roy Hibbert, he finds an exceptionally cutting D’Angelo Russell who caught Michael Carter-Williams ball watching. Kobe leaves his feet (as usual) and delivers a last second thread-the-needle bounce pass to Russell under the basket for a lay up.

This isn’t Karl-Anthony Towns‘ first time on The Passing Game. The rookie forward has terrific awareness here by backing down Danilo Gallinari, which attracted (poor) help positioning from Kenneth Faried, which opened up an easy no-look zip pass down to an open Kevin Garnett.
