Basketball Society and partners are collaborating with Small Fry to host the Spread Love Basketball Clinic on Saturday, February 15 in Chicago during NBA All-Star Weekend.
The camp is free with a morning session for fifth to seventh graders followed by a session for eighth grade and high school players.
The Spread Love Camp was formed in 2018 as a way to combine the elements of high-level basketball training with the training of the body and mind. The camp format features skills training, meditation/yoga, self-reflection, and film sessions.
Lauren Foster of Small Fry is one of the camp coaches, a longtime ball handling trainer who is known to have worked with Derrick Rose, Cappie Pondexter, Jerome Randle, and many others out of Chicago.
The Village skills trainers Tyrell Grant and Martin Soaries will also be coaching. Self-reflection sessions are hosted by Melvin Smith aka Mel The Prophet, and a volunteer from The Meditation Center of Chicago will lead a mindfulness portion of the camp.
