Report: Timberwolves Looking To Trade Chase Budinger
According to league sources for Yahoo Sports, the Minnesota Timberwolves are looking to shop forward Chase Budinger in trade talks. Teams reportedly showing the most interest are the Houston Rockets and the Detroit Pistons, though both teams are hesitant to take on Budinger’s $5 million player option in 2015-16. Budinger is also guaranteed $5 million for the 2014-15 season.
Minnesota’s slew of forwards makes Budinger expendable. He could be serviceable to Detroit or Houston. The Rockets drafted Budinger in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft and he played there for three seasons. He averaged 6.7 points for the Timberwolves last season.
