Looks like Patrick Beverley will be back in Houston after agreeing on a new contract. The 26 year old starting point guard has agreed on a 4-year contract. His agent first told Yahoo Sports.

This is great news for Rockets fan as they no longer have to worry about finding a starting caliber point guard to play alongside James Harden. Beverley was linked with the Dallas Mavericks and the New York Knicks. He played in 56 games this season averaging 10.1 points, 4.2 rebounds & 3.4 assists before being sidelined for the last couple of weeks of the season as well as the playoffs with a wrist injury. After the way Houston played against the Warriors in the playoffs, you can tell they needed him to be in the game as oppose to a suit and tie on the bench.

Beverley is a top notch perimeter defender and looks to improve his offensive game as well. With this signing the Rockets now have their starting backup set up for the next couple of season if Beverley can stay healthy. When healthy he is one of the top defending guards in the league.
