NBA suspends four Washington Wizards players for leaving bench

On Wednesday afternoon, the NBA announced that DeJuan Blair, Xavier Silas, Nene and Daniel Orton of the Washington Wizards have been suspended one game for leaving the bench during Monday’s preseason contest against the Chicago Bulls. The four men left the bench area during a skirmish between Wizards forward Paul Pierce and Bulls center Joakim Noah.

Noah and Pierce were both fined $15,000 for the altercation, which took place with 8:57 left in the first quarter. Noah shoved Pierce in the chest, and Pierce responded by poking Noah in the head with his index finger.

The Wizards open their season on October 29th against the Miami Heat.
