New Orleans Pelicans combo guard Jrue Holiday has made improving his three-point shot an offseason focus.

In an interview with Pelicans.com, Holiday discussed how his summer is going so far and what he’s been working on.

“I would say shooting, especially three-pointers,” Holiday said. “I’m just trying to make my three-point percentage go up. I think quickness with the handle and getting by people. I’m usually pretty strong with the body, but again, you can improve everywhere and in every aspect. I’m trying to get quicker and stronger and improve my shooting.”

This past season, Holiday shot 33.7 percent from three during the regular season, the second lowest percentage of his nine-year career. The 28-year-old averaged 19.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists and helped the Pelicans finish sixth in the rugged Western Conference.

Holiday took his game to another level during the postseason. In nine games, Holiday posted 23.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. The Pelicans swept the Portland Trail Blazers in the first-round, but lost to the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals in five games.

Named to the 2017-18 All-Defensive team, Holiday will be asked to produce more on both ends of the court this upcoming season. The Pelicans lost Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins in free agency. Elfrid Payton and Julius Randle joined New Orleans as free agents.
