Jhamir Brickus, class of 2020 guard for Coatesville High School, added another accolade to his already impressive resume on Thursday.

Brickus already joined the 1000 point club last season when he was just a sophomore. After another 40+ point game on Coatesville’s senior night, Brickus passed none other than Rip Hamilton(1593) to move to second all-time in Coatesville’s history. Next on the list is John Allen at 2371 points.

Brickus has used a lethal combo of explosiveness and patience to get to this point. He can attack the defender off the dribble, wreak havoc in the lane, and hurt opposing teams from the perimeter. As he’s gotten older and more experienced he has added more creative ways to score. Watching him progress into his senior year should be very interesting.

The old adage, “Heart over height” rings true with Brickus and the Coatesville squad behind him. They will travel to Oxford, PA on Saturday to take on Bayard Rustin for the Chesmont League Semifinals.
