Adrian Wojnarowski is on the case again, this time the Cleveland Cavaliers are trading Tyus Jones to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
While Tyus Jones could have been a very nice backup point guard for the Cavaliers, it still seemed like an odd pick as they have Kyrie Irving and the defensive minded Matthew Dellavedova. He could have been a nice offensive burst off the bench though.
Now, he’s on his way to his hometown team in the Timberwolves.
Minnesota will send the Cavaliers No. 31 and 36 in this draft, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

This seems even weirder if you ask me. Now, the Timberwolves have Rubio, Lavine, and Tyus Jones. Maybe they want to work on their own three-headed guard rotation like Phoenix had at one point. Tyus Jones’ size has been questioned though as he transitions into the NBA. It will be interesting to see how the Timberwolves decide to use him.
