On Saturday, January 11th, Wesley College Guard, Brian Cameron, became only the 2nd player in school history to reach 2000 points against Neumann University.

The Wesley College guard only needed seven points to reach the milestone before the game started. After the game, Cameron knew he had accomplished something special.

“It’s a big accomplishment to surpass 2000 points, especially being only the second highest scoring player in school history”, said Cameron. “I couldn’t have done it without my teammates and coaches believing in me throughout the years.”

Cameron is averaging a career-high 29 points this season, while shooting 48% from the field. He has been nothing short of sensational and consistently reliable for this team ever since joining Wesley three years ago.

Head Coach Dean Burrows knows what kind of player Cameron is and how solid his work ethic has been since day one.

“It’s been a lot of fun being able to experience up close, on a daily basis, the growth and maturation that we’ve seen in Brian from his freshman year on up until now both on and off the court”, said Burrows. “All of the accomplishments and accolades that Brian has earned was not by mistake or magic. Brian would be the first to deflect attention and give credit to his teammates for everything they have done and do to have helped him get to this point thus far.”

Cameron has elevated his game from averaging 14 points per game during his freshman year to 29 points per game his senior year…and it’s only midway through the season. He still has the second half of the season to look forward to and plans on bringing Wesley College a championship this coming post-season.

In addition to this stellar season, Brian Cameron was just named to the Small College Basketball Top 100 Players To Watch List.

The Wolverines are 3-0 in the Atlantic East Conference and look to continue their undefeated streak with their upcoming conference games.
