Veteran big man Pau Gasol led Spain to a thrilling victory over Greece in the quarterfinals of EuroBasket on Tuesday, registering 27 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks in the 73-71 win.
Gasol dominated in his typical fashion, with finesse finishes in the paint and even a three pointer. Gasol was also the beneficiary of some beautiful feeds from his teammates out of some good action, making for a 10-18 shooting performance for EuroBasket’s leading scorer.
Nikola Mirotic, a teammate of Gasol’s on the Spanish national team and in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls, scored 18 points, and now Spain will look to clinch a championship berth with a win in the quarterfinals against a Tony Parker led French team.
