In the Los Angeles Lakers’ 84-94 Christmas Day loss to the in-town rival Clippers, rookie Larry Nance Jr., went to corral a rebound in an unorthodox fashion, and in doing so tipped the ball into the wrong basket.
At the end of the season if I were to compile several moments to serve as the encapsulation of the 2015-16 Lakers, this one may make the final cut. I’m not sure what Nance was trying to do, but I theorize that since it was Christmas he was in the giving mood. DeAndre Jordan was the nearest Clipper in the vicinity so he was awarded the points, two he’ll certainly take since he can only score on dunks and shoots 39% from the free-throw line. Nice gesture rook.
