Jimmy Butler is a player that I truly admire. He won the Most Improved Player of the year for the 2014-2015 season after a season that had many young and new stars rise to the occasion. In the statistical categories, Butler has only improved every season since his rookie year. He averaged 20.0 ppg this season and it will be just a matter of time teams come calling in pursuit of him during free agency. There are plenty of teams who will pursue Butler. In fact, don’t be surprised if a team like the Sacramento Kings make a push for the player out of Marquette.

Improvement is something Butler is used to. He started out at a small school called Tyler Junior College and played well enough to transfer to Marquette after one year. His role was limited to start for the Golden Eagles but, once again, improvement helped carry him to be an eventual first round selection for the Bulls. I admire Butler’s play because he knows he is the number two star on that Bulls team, but he makes his teammates around him better, along with being a leader on and off the court. That is something teams pursing him in free agency will be looking for, and he will most likely become the number one player on a team he could move to.

For now, enjoy the top plays of the season from Butler, a player that is so fun to watch!
