On Episode 45 of the Schmidt Talking Podcast, Kyle and Alec discuss the Bonnies new starting lineup featuring young big man Osun Osunniyi, who also took home the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors for the week of January 7th. In the two Bonnies wins, the young big man averaged 13 points and 12 rebounds per game. He was also 11-16 from the field in these games.
The reason why the Bonnies two-game winning streak came at this time, as the guys discuss in the show, is the adjustment to the starting lineup with Osunniyi. Chemistry wise, you can see he and Lofton have improved success game by game. Even though they lost a tough one last night to Rhode Island, you see the confidence in Kyle Lofton coming out even more with his high school teammate in the lineup. Also to add, Nelson Kaputo’s senior leadership ability helps boost this starting lineup as well.
