St. Bonaventure Basketball and George Mason basketball have one thing in common…and that is both seasons have been filled with disappointment. The Bonnies sit at 4-10 overall and the main reasons for the worst start since 2007-2008, Mark Schmidt’s first year as coach, is due to injuries and losing their seniors. George Mason, starting the season 0-3 with at-large hopes, has rallied as of late but the up and down season has come down to execution.
Both of these squads faced up this past weekend with the Patriots winning the game and undefeated in the conference at 2-0. The Bonnies got off to a great start in the game but the guard play of Mason proved to be the greater force as both guards combined for 23 of their 28 points in the second half.
Overall, these two teams still have a lot of basketball left to play, and what better guest to have than Bryan Lawrence of the By George Podcast to discuss the Patriots season.
