According to Matt Moore of CBS Sports, the Los Angeles Lakers are still interested in Rajon Rondo despite his falling out with Rick Carlisle and the Dallas Mavericks.

This interest comes with a requirement though. The Lakers only want Rondo at a low price, because they watched his stock drop during this feud with his coach. Via Bleacher Report:

So there remains a distinct possibility in today’s space-and-shoot NBA that the Los Angeles Lakers will be the torchbearers for the old school and sign the pass-first (nay, pass-only) Rondo to a free-agent contract this summer.

But what should be made clear, according to team sources, is that Buss is not the believer he was earlier in the season when it comes to Rondo, and Kupchak is toting enough healthy skepticism that he sees Rondo as value only at a certain low price.

Finally, people are seeing what Rondo has turned into. So many fans and analysts said that “playoff Rondo” was still there, and everyone needed to stop criticizing him on his regular season struggles. He’s now gotten into it with two championship coaches and he’s been benched for the rest of the postseason.

Everyone has seen Rondo’s value take a major hit. A lot of teams started raising flags because of his attitude as of late as well as his issues on the court. Not many general managers want a guy who can’t shoot well, stops the movement of the ball a lot, and has issues with his coaches. It should be very interesting to see what kind of money he gets this offseason.
