Josh Smith, Brandon Jennings ‘firmly’ on the trading block
The Detroit Pistons are a mess, once again. Stan Van Gundy became the team’s president and head coach with no initial plans of looking to disperse his roster. Now it’s all but clear that Greg Monroe will be gone, whether before the trade deadline or in free agency next summer, and now from Bleacher Report, Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings are effectively on the trading block:
New Pistons president Stan Van Gundy needs to trade one or both of these guys if he wants to preserve the sanity of new Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy.
Both are firmly on the block, per rival executives.
These won’t be easy deals to shop for Van Gundy due to the notions of value. Smith and Jennings can be assets to the right team, but it’s unlikely that we’ll hear of teams jumping at those contracts.
