Last night against the surging Toronto Raptors, James Harden erupted. He finished with 40 points, 14 assists, and 5 rebounds.

The most impressive part?

James Harden only had 1 turnover. Given that Harden had a combined 17 turnovers over the past two games for the Rockets, it was a welcoming sign to see James keeping those turnover numbers down.

He also shot very efficiently from the floor. It was the first time he shot above 50% in a game in the past two weeks.

James Harden’s official line was compiled of 40 points, 14 assists, and 5 rebounds with a field goal percentage of 55%. That is the second time this season that Harden has had a line of at least 40/12/5 while shooting above 50%.

In fact, James Harden had such a great performance last night that it put him in the company of only one man, Kobe.

Kobe Bryant and James Harden are the only two players in NBA history to have two games in a single season with a line of at least 40 points, 12 assists, and 5 rebounds while shooting above 50%.

Kobe did it in consecutive games back in March of 2013.

Let’s hope James Harden keeps up his incredible play as he continues to help the Rockets gain ground in the Western Conference standings after their sub-par first half.
