According to the official Indiana Pacers Twitter handle, Paul George is expected to make his long awaited debut tomorrow against the Miami Heat. As many people have been aware, George suffered a really gruesome leg injury in the Team USA inter-squad scrimmage on August 1.

“The recovery has been a long process and this is another step in the process,” George said in a statement released by the team. “I thank everyone, my family, friends, doctors, our training staff, coaches, the entire Pacers’ family for their support and encouragement. I’m excited, but at the same time I’m aware I’m still in a rehab stage and will continue to work to get back to full strength.”

There is no further detail on how many minutes he’ll be playing or if he will come off the bench. Regardless, PG seems very excited to be back on the court.

This does not come at a better time for Indiana, who are currently 1.5 back behind the Heat for the final 8th playoff seed. Even if he has a minutes restriction, Paul George definitely helps out the Pacers and gives them the edge to make the playoffs. Even if you are not a Pacers fan, you have to be happy that a guy like Paul George gets to play again when people thought eight months ago that he’d never play again. George will also be wearing a new number (#24 to #13). Welcome Back PG-13!!
