Ben Simmons made a decision that we all knew was coming sooner than later. He told ESPN’s Jeff Goodman that he will be entering the 2016 NBA Draft.

Simmons was the No. 1 prospect of the 2015 class, and he took a different route than most one and done’s in college theses days. He chose LSU hoping to restore the college basketball program that thrived during the late 1980’s, early 1990’s. His hopes didn’t go as planned, as it seemed the team around him was folding as the season went along. As an injury decimated team, it was tough for Simmons and the Tigers to find consistency this season. As a result, they lost in the semi-finals of the SEC tournament and even skipped the opportunity to play in the NIT.

Although the team didn’t produce results, Simmons had himself one hell of a season. Simmons averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game as a 6’10 point guard. Some would say he was the most exciting point guard since Pete Maravich scored 3600+ points in his  4 year career.

Simmons plans on hiring Rich Paul of Klutch Sports as his agent.
