NBA Preseason

Three Biggest Question Heading Into the NBA Preseason

What will Kawhi Leonard look like in Toronto?

Kawhi Leonard was traded to the Toronto Raptors during the NBA offseason and the public is curious as to what version of Leonard will be seen with his new team.

Leonard is arguably the best two-way player in the Association, but his defense is where his biggest impact will be seen statistically. The Raptors allowed 16 more points per 100 possessions in games against the league’s top-10 offenses than it did in games against the league’s bottom 20 offenses.  The biggest differential for an NBA team.

Danny Green was also shipped with Leonard to the Six, and his defense will pay dividends for the new and improved Raptors. OG Anunoby will be going into his sophomore season and has already shown flashes defensively, potentially giving Toronto one of the best defensive wing duos if Leonard decides to stay after this year.

LeBron James will play ___ minutes during the preseason?

Luke Walton has ten new players on his team and the best player (LeBron James) said he will play fewer minutes in the preseason.

Sunday on ESPN at 6:30 LeBron James will be seen in action in Purple & Gold for the first time against the Denver Nuggets, the first of six preseason contests for the Lakers.

James played in only the fourth preseason game for Cleveland last season and did not miss a beat. His first season where he played all 82 games.

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin LeBron has not decided his preseason schedule yet. ” I don’t need preseason games[at this stage] in my career to get ready.”

LeBron has no other choice but to participate due to the unfamiliarity with his new team in the City of Angels.

What jersey will Jimmy Butler be wearing in October?

Jimmy Butler requested a trade from the Minnesota Timberwolves a week and a half ago. The Philadelphia Sixers have taken their hat out of trade talks, but according to Woj, the Rockets and the Heat are trying their best to pursue the two-way guard.

NBC Sports reported Jimmy Butler may sit out the season until he is traded. According to Ben Rohrbach of Yahoo! Sports the Wolves are asking “for the moon” for Butler. According to ESPN, Minnesota asked for Ben Simmons with their rebuttal trade and the Sixers backed out.

Butler has a new number one destination with the Miami Heat.

Head coach Erik Spoelstra has pushed the front office to pursue a Butler trade according to Barry Jackson.  Miami, Portland, Sacramento, even Cleveland hope to have a chance in pulling off a Butler trade.
