Jimmy Butler has been the heart of the Chicago Bulls this year with nagging injuries to the Bulls star Derrick Rose.
Butler, who was drafted 30th in the 2011 NBA Draft, was known as a defensive guard on the rise. He was named to the 2014 All-NBA Defensive Team last season. Jimmy’s career numbers are 9.7 ppg, 6.1 rpg, & 1.2 steals per game. However with Derrick Rose consistently being hurt, someone had to pick up some of the bulk of the scoring, and who better than Jimmy Butler.
Thibs on Jimmy Butler: “He’s a star.”

This season he is averaging 21.6 points per game along with 6.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. We are watching a star rise before our eyes. With his consistent defense effectiveness along with the growth that we are witnessing on the offensive end, Butler may be considered one of the top shooting guards in the league. Even though it’s early, it will be exciting to see how well he can continue to play along with Gasol and Rose (when he returns) to try and take this Bulls team to the promised land.
