It has been 39 years since the Golden State Warriors felt the hardware of a division title. They haven’t felt any hardware for a title since 1975 when they won the NBA Championship. This is a step in the right direction for the team with the NBA’s best record.
Now, a division title is what it is: a division title. This Warriors team is not done making noise. With a record of 34-2 at home, the Warriors have been in the making over the last few seasons.
They finally have a fully healthy Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson is becoming more than just a knock down shooter, Draymond Green is having a career season in his sophmore season, and they are getting All-Star caliber play from role players.
There are some interesting stats to back this team’s caliber of play up as well. They have the most efficient offense at 109.6 ppg per 100 possessions, and the most efficient defense at 97.5 ppg per 100 possessions. The last team to be the leader in both of those stats? The 72-10 Jordan-led Chicago Bulls team. The win last night came on 37 assists on 50 made shots as a team, as well as 33 points from Steph Curry.
Watch out people, this Warriors team has plenty more to come.
