After the Washington Wizards defeated the Boston Celtics 133-132 in a two overtime thriller, Wizards guard John Wall broke down in tears during a very emotional and touching post-game interview, one in which he mentioned Miyah Telemaque-Nelson, a six-year-old girl with cancer that passed away on Monday.
Wall met Telemaque-Nelson last March, about five months after the young girl was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. It was Miyah’s lifelong dream to meet rap star Nikki Minaj, and Wall helped her dream to come true.
See Wall’s emotional post-game reaction below.
Wall had a huge game against the Celtics, finishing with 26 points and 17 assists, including 10 of the team’s 12 points in the second overtime. Wall also became the first player in Wizards franchise history to dish out 12 assists or more in five consecutive games.

CSN Washington reports that Wall had been writing Telemaque-Nelson’s name on his sneakers all season long. The Celtics and Wizards observed a moment of silence for Telemaque-Nelson prior to Monday night’s game.
