There were a couple of other notable players that were part of that championship team like Aaron Craft, the former Ohio State University standout who also won the D-League Defensive Player of the Year. Other players include Mychel Thompson, older brother of Golden State Warriors swingman Klay Thompson, as well as Golden State’s assignees James Michael McAdoo and Ognjen Kuzmic.
The NBA Developmental League started back in 2001 with only 8 teams. Since then they have expanded to 18 teams.
