Galloway signed his first 10-day contract with New York on January 7th, 2015 and then signed his 2nd 10-day contract on January 17th, 2015. The contract he signed today is guaranteed for the reminder of the 2014-15 NBA season and it is partially guaranteed for the 2015-16 NBA season.
The 23 year old undrafted rookie out of Saint Joseph’s was on the Knicks summer league team and was also on the Knicks preseason roster before being released during the final roster cuts. He was then signed by the Westchester Knicks. In 19 D-League games, Galloway averaged 16.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game before being called up to the New York Knicks. In 8 NBA games (4 starts) he is averaging 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
As a Knicks fan, he has been one of the few bright spots this season. I think Galloway would make a great role player for them down the road. We shall see what the Knicks plan to do with him once this horrific season is over. If he continues to impress Phil Jackson, he could be a regular rotation guy for them.
