According to CBS Sports, the Miami Heat are set to offer Goran Dragic a 5-year, $80 million deal.
This is not a max deal for Dragic, but it’s still a nice chunk of change for the seven-year veteran. If the Heat want to get into the playoffs next season, locking up Dragic is a smart move.
As reported by Marc Stein, Dragic was expected to bypass his option and become a free agent on July 1. The Heat probably want to get some kind of deal done before he hits the free agent waters. Teams around the league would probably throw a good amount of money at him if he did become available.
Now, they’re going to have to hope that Dwyane Wade will re-sign as well so they can get the post-LeBron era rolling again.
