Several teams are courting Arron Afflalo.
Sitting at 11th in the Western Conference with a record of 17-20, the Denver Nuggets have seemingly abandoned their hunt for a playoff spot. Last week’s trade of starting center Timofey Mozgov to the Cleveland Cavaliers strengthens this notion, as Denver’s chances of sneaking into the postseason are basically nonexistent due to the barbaric West.
With the Mozgov trade serving as an informal surrender for Denver, several teams have contacted the Nuggets regarding shooting guard Arron Afflalo according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com.
Denver is probably the most intriguing potential seller because of the quality of players they could move — Afflalo, Chandler, etc

Since Mozgov trade, everyone is calling Denver on Chandler & Afflalo. Heard Heat, Clippers, Hornets have all discussed Afflalo.

If indeed on the trading block, Afflalo may prove to be one of the most talented and valuable two-way players available at the trade deadline. His numbers have taken a slight dip as compared to last year, but he’s been fantastic in the month of January, averaging 23 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game on 55% FG and 42% three-point FG.
Don’t be surprised if Afflalo and other quality role players shift scenes to contending teams prior to the trade deadline. The NBA is wide open right now, with no team emerging as the clear-cut favorite to win the title even with nearly half the season over in terms of games played. Moves like acquiring Afflalo may seem subtle to some, but for teams like the Clippers, it could prove to be the difference between another first round playoff exit or a trip to the first Western Conference Finals.
