McDermott, who was traded to the Bulls by the Denver Nuggets in a draft night deal, had already missed five games this season due to knee issues. McDermott’s role for Chicago has been small, as he’s averaged only 11.6 minutes and 3.2 points per game this year. McDermott hopes to return in late January or early February.
