According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Bulls rookie Doug McDermott is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks after having a small meniscus tear in his right knee repaired by Bulls team physician Brian Cole on Saturday.

McDermott, who was traded to the Bulls by the Denver Nuggets in a draft night deal, had already missed five games this season due to knee issues. McDermott’s role for Chicago has been small, as he’s averaged only 11.6 minutes and 3.2 points per game this year. McDermott hopes to return in late January or early February.
