usa-today-8195625.0Rudy Gay isn’t too fond of Kendrick Perkins.

During the Sacramento Kings and Oklahoma City Thunder’s first matchup of the season, Thunder center Kendrick Perkins downplayed the early season success the Kings were having. Through the first six games of the season, Sacramento was 5-1, with impressive wins over the Blazers, Clippers, and Suns.

Perkins apparently wasn’t fazed by the Kings’ surprising start, and during a team huddle said “these mother****** are still the Sacramento Kings.” Anthony Slater got Perkins’ message to his team on camera:

Kings forward Rudy Gay didn’t appreciate Perkins’ rant, and Blake Ellington of Sactown Royalty reported that Gay had some choice words for Perkins:

“He might as well play with his face painted, he’s a clown to me. Quote that, you can quote that, he’s a clown to me, he might as well play with his face painted,” Gay told Sactown Royalty.

Since then, Perkins has fired back at Rudy Gay’s clown comment:

The Kings and Thunder have been going in opposite directions since this whole thing started. The Thunder have gained the services of Durant and Westbrook back, and the Kings have been without Cousins and they also just had their coach fired. Tuesday should be interesting when the Kings and Thunder meet again for a matchup in Sactown.
