Rodney Hood Is Now In The Company Of Steph Curry

Before you go crazy on me for comparing Rodney Hood to Steph Curry, just hear me out for a second. In no way am I saying that Rodney Hood is the kind of shooter that Curry is. Not whatsoever.

But, even with saying that, Rodney Hood did have such a tremendous game last night against the Los Angeles Lakers. In fact, Steph Curry is the only player this season to have a game quite like his.

Rodney Hood led the Utah Jazz to the annihilation of the Lakers. The Jazz won by 48. To save the souls of any Lakers fans reading this article, I’ll stop there with the deliberation of the game.

Hood finished with 30 points on 11/13 shooting from the field while making 8 of his shots from deep. Rodney Hood happened to be the 2nd player this year to make 8 threes in a game while playing under 30 minutes. Steph Curry was the only other person to do it this year.

Only 20 players since the 1983-1984 season have had a game like that. Rodney Hood is now one of those players.

Rodney Hood has had himself a terrific season for the Jazz and should be considered one of the main candidates to win the Most Improved Player of the Year Award. If the Jazz can make the playoffs, Hood can have a very good chance to win the award.

The Utah Jazz currently sit in the 7th spot in the West, but are only 1 game ahead of the 9th seed Dallas Mavericks. With only 8 games to go for the Jazz, they can use some more performances like this one from Rodney Hood to ensure their spot in the playoffs.
