The ACC men’s basketball schedule is out and we are in store for another amazing ACC basketball season. The ACC is considered one of the best conferences in college basketball. There is some really good talent spread throughout the conference which makes the games this year a lot better. Here are four ACC games to watch this coming season.
Saturday, Feb. 4: Virginia at Syracuse
Virginia lost to Syracuse and didn’t reach the Final Four last season. Virginia will be looking for revenge this season. Syracuse has lost Michael Gbinije, Trevor Cooney and Malachi Richardson. Syracuse does get Nebraska transfer Andrew White and that is huge coach Jim Boeheim and Syracuse this coming season. Virginia is gaining freshman sharpshooter Kyle Guy. Kyle can shoot all over the floor when it comes to offense. Virginia and Syracuse should be a great matchup to watch yet again. Circle this one on your calendar.
Saturday, March 4: Duke at North Carolina
Of course this game has to be circled on every college basketball fans’ schedule. Last season, North Carolina came within seconds of winning the national championship but ended up losing at the buzzer to Villanova. UNC and Duke will also play on February 9th. Everyone has Duke being the likely preseason No. 1 team in the country. What also makes this game so interesting is it is also the final day of the ACC regular season. Just looking at the individual match ups without going into full detail is exciting itself. Justin Jackson vs. Jayson Tatum. Kennedy Meeks vs. Harry Giles. Joel Berry vs. Grayson Allen.
Sunday, Feb. 26: North Carolina at Virginia
If you want to see two different types of basketball then you should watch this game. This matchup is always fun to watch during the basketball season. UVA wants to play uptempo and that is what Tony Bennett’s squad did to UNC last season. It will be interesting to see if UNC can adjust to the uptempo style offense this time around against Virginia. Plus, it will interesting to see if UVA can matchup against North Carolina’s talented team.
Saturday, Jan. 14: Duke at Louisville
This has trap game written all over it for Duke. It’s yet to be seen how well Duke’s talent will mesh by the seventh game of the season. The Blue Devils are most likely to slip up at some point and Louisville, who is extremely difficult to beat at the home could beat Duke. The Cardinals will serve as a true early test for Duke and Mike Krzyzewski. If Duke can handle Louisville on the road, there is no telling what else this team can do.
