Boy, am I glad Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are back for the Oklahoma City Thunder. While their two superstars and other rotation players were sidelined by injuries, the Thunder went 5-12 and spent some time in the Western Conference’s basement with shoddy teams like the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Thunder have won two games in a row since KD and Westbrook’s return, something they only managed to do once in their absence. OKC picked up a 96-94 victory against the woeful Detroit Pistons on Sunday night, and Russell Westbrook threw down a rim-rattlling jam in an impressive 22 point, 11 rebound, 7 assist performance. Word is that they filed a police report after the game for that assault on the rim.
