Lately, if you’ve read some of my Fun With Numbers articles, you’ll notice that I have been using the Basketball Reference Play Index to take a new look into how players are doing this season.

Today, I decided to look into the players in the league this season with the most games with 30+ points and at least three 3-pointers made. Obviously without looking, Steph Curry would be the first person on the list. That was without question. Some of the others in the top 10 might be a bit surprising though.

Here’s the top 10:

Curry with 34 of those games has to be something from 2k. We’re just going to skip him since there’s no explanation for that man.

Let’s move on down the list. James Harden’s name shouldn’t be one that is surprising to see. He scores most of the points for Houston and takes a lot of shots each game. He’s a heck of a player and is still one of the best guards in the league.

Dame has had a terrific season for Portland and continues to put up some crazy numbers. 20 games is just about right for Lillard.

The one main surprise on this list has to be DeMarcus Cousins. DeMarcus has continued to increase his 3-point shooting game and it’s really showing up this year.

Like I’ve said in most of my Fun With Numbers pieces, these statistics don’t necessarily point to one player being better than the other, but rather it’s another way to look at the NBA from a statistical standpoint.
