San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are dominating this season and it starts with their defense. Ranked 1st in points allowed and 1st in defensive rating, they lockdown their opponents night in and night out and it reflects in their 28-6 record. The resolution for the Spurs is to continue to dominate. They are playing at a high level and I believe they will give the Golden State Warriors a run for their money.

Dallas Mavericks

I thought the Dallas Mavericks were done coming into this year but boy have they proven me wrong. Nobody and I mean nobody would’ve predicted the Dallas Mavericks would be sitting at 5th in the Western Conference at this moment. In my opinion, the play of Chandler Parsons and Wesley Matthews must be stellar going forward if Dallas wants to maintain this great start. Both of these guys are coming back from injury, still finding their way this season. We all know Dirk is going to be Dirk, but the play of Parsons and Matthews will determine how far this team will go.

Memphis Grizzlies

Someone in the Memphis Grizzlies’ management needs to come to the realization that we are in 2016. The game is constantly changing and the Grizzlies are just stuck in the mud of how the game was played years ago. Year after year, you know what you’re going to get from this team. Good defense, slow, patient offense, and a bounce out of the NBA playoffs. It’s 2016 and the Memphis Grizzlies need to blow this team up. It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee.

Houston Rockets

The Rockets’ resolution for the New Year is to gain some pride because they lack a lot of it. It has been a bad start for this Houston team after suffering loss after loss, which led to the firing of their former coach, Kevin McHale.  They give up the 4th most points in the NBA as well as allowing the most points in the paint. There’s no heart in Houston and the Rockets are suffering mightily from it. Someone must pump some life into this team before its too late.

New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans must adjust some pieces on this roster. This core that they’ve built has not work and it’s time for a change. Names like Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans quickly come to my mind. Anthony Davis is in his prime so it’s best for the Pelicans to get as much talent around him as possible while he’s still playing at a high level. They are struggling early this season and what they’re doing is not working so getting some assistance to help along side Anthony Davis should be their first priority.
