MiKyle McIntosh has had an up and down college basketball career thus far. Most of his seasons at Illinois State were hampered by injuries with him most recently having a torn meniscus last year. By some miracle, McIntosh was able to come back and play late last year for Illinois State, but he wasn’t the same player.

Now, McIntosh will get a chance to play for Oregon, one of the top teams in the nation. It’s unclear at this point where he’ll fit into the rotation given how early it is, but there’s no doubt that the Ducks are getting a very determined and skilled player.

McIntosh’s main skill is his defense. He’s able to guard the 2 and 3 positions in college very, very well. His offensive game lacks a bit of polish, but not many people can contain him. If he were to become more consistent offensively, he’ll be a real issue for the opposition in the Pac 12 next year.

Illiniois State will now be without MiKyle McIntosh and Deontae Hawkins (transferred to Boston College), two of their top scorers last year, in the Missouri Valley Conference. Now, it’ll be up to Keyshawn Evans, Phil Fayne, and company to carry Illinois State to another very successful year.
