Around the holiday season, people often spend a considerable amount of time reflecting from what occurred in the past 12 months as well as what the new year is set to offer. In a year that has offered up as much excitement and buzz around the Lakers in recent memory, 2019 is set to deliver on that excitement with results.

Hosts Randy King and BJ Boyer provide some of the reasonable and lofty expectations set for them in 2019.

“I would like to see us get 50 wins, some All-Star weekend representation, and wins over the Warriors, Rockets, Clippers, and I pray that we beat Philadelphia.” – BJ Boyer

“Beating some of the top eastern conference teams like toronto, philadelphia, and obviously our rival boston. Also, acquiring two superstars in the offseason and winning the western conference.” – randy King

In order for there to be change as well as growth, self-reflection is vital. For the Lakers, some tremendous events occurred for the Lakers in 2018.

  1. LeBron James signs with the Lakers
  2. The Lakers dominated the defending champions on the road
  3. Lonzo Ball & Kyle Kuzma achieve All-Rookie honors (Ball – 2nd team, Kuzma – 1st team)
  4. Lakers sign veterans Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Lance Stephenson, and Michael Beasley
  5. Lonzo hits six-threes versus San Antonio

“I think the Lakers have succeeded in shifting the culture of Los ANgeles Lakers basketball. Now, having LeBron james and all these young guys, the tide has turned.” – BJ Boyer

The Lakers are coming down from a high on Christmas day after they would demolish the Golden State Warriors by 26 points, dropping games to the Sacramento Kings and the Staples Center roommate, Los Angeles Clippers.

In the Kings game, they fell victim to Bogdan Bogdanovich.

Thoughts?

“The Lakers were up 15 with 6:44 left. How do you blow that big a lead with that amount of time left? There is no excuse.” – Randy King

Several more topics and discussions were had in this episode. As always, find a comfortable seat as you step inside the Laker Lair to find out what else both King and Boyer discussed. Enjoy!
