Kemba Walker has been balling out lately for the Hornets which has been a major reason for Charlotte having won each of their 5 games this month. During the 5 game winning streak, Kemba Walker is averaging 31.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting above 50% from the field and from beyond the arc.
Walker has been ridiculed, he’s been cast away as a top point guard, and was even snubbed from the All-Star Game, but Kemba hasn’t let that affect his play one bit.
Last night against the Pelicans, particularly, Kemba put on a show.
Kemba finished with 35 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, and did not turn over the ball. He was efficient, played great defense, and led the team to a victory over New Orleans who had just come off a big victory against the Kings.
The Hornets have won 11 out of their last 13 games because of Walker’s recent surge. The Charlotte Hornets are now only a half game back of the Atlanta Hawks for the 5th seed in the East.
If Kemba can keep up this production, the Hornets could have a realistic chance of upsetting some teams in the playoffs while making their way closer and closer to the NBA Finals.
